To gain

No happiness, no gain.

Freedom in expression of feelings

Feelings are not changeable, they are repressible. With every single feeling that is repressed, a part of the man’s power to live and to be free is occupied. Every single feeling that is repressed, will show itself in other forms, and make us deal with the feeling for longer. We are used to freely express our happy feelings and hide the sad, angry and scary feelings. This habit becomes an obstacle to live freely, and a reason to act the way we would not do normally.

Small decisions are as important as the whole life

We should live every moment of our life only according to our own morals and standards, regardless of the soundness of the standards. If even the smallest behaviors are based on our desires – such as being accepted in a group or escaping the judgment of people or just having more comfort – rather than being based upon our thoughts and beliefs, then we have started the process of breaking the dignity of our character for ourselves. A process which leads us to being capable of behaving against our standards in the biggest issues.

What is it to be experienced?

To have experiences is not the same as being experienced. Having experiences is associated with lifestyle and how much one has aged. But being experienced depends on how much one learns from his experiences. It is possible that one undergoes the same experience for years, without learning anything from it. People who do not learn from their experiences tend to become pessimistic and bitter. Therefore, between two people who have had similar experiences, the one who is happier is likely more experienced.

On choosing solitude

When we have problems that are related to our behavior or way of thinking, it is better to keep sometime away from the world and people, and seek the real solution. Otherwise, we may try solutions that are actually escaping from facing the true solution. Wrong solutions such as escaping to other people or social positions.

On the importance of ideas

Some ideas, even if they do not have any representative in reality, are better to be thought about than not. Perfection is one of such ideas. There may have never been a perfect person, in its true meaning. But believing in and thinking about the idea of perfection, can touch our point of view towards life and change our behavior deeply. Ideas that give meaning to life are worth considering just because of introducing meaning to life.

Living in the present and ethics

Living in the present has a direct relationship with good morals. Those who are not bounded by the happy or sad memories of the yore, and are not concerned with fears or interests that future may bring, can make decision more based on their own morals or rationality.

The true friends

The truest friends are those whom we trust most. The sign of trusting them is that we will not use many defensive mechanisms before them, defensive mechanisms such as hiding aspects of our being, trying not to speak everything we think or always trying to protect our character and self from being altered.

Meaning of our behaviour

How can we know about the meanings and values of our behaviour and attitude? We mostly behave unconsciously and depending on specific cases that we encounter. Even though we can name our specific behaviours, we are rarely able to classify them into general groups. If told about a general rule, we may simply reject it but at the same time follow it in a more mild manner. One answer to the question is to take any thought and behaviour to its extreme and it will become easier to judge and evaluate it.

Friends and lovers

Friends are best known when they stay by your side in difficulties, and lovers are best known when they keep you in mind in felicity.
